Since the time of the Buddha, it is traditional for the Sangha to spend the 3-month Rains Retreat (VASSA) in one location. Lay supporters invite the Sangha to stay in a certain place and pledge to provide whatever support Sangha members may require in terms of requisites.
Bhante and Sister have been invited to spend Vassa 2025 in retreat at Aloka. Although they may not be meeting devotees personally, they will be dedicating the merits of their practice for the wellbeing of all members, devotees and sponsors.
If you would like to participate in the meritorious deed of supporting the needs of the Sangha and those staying at Aloka during this period, you are welcome to make a contribution by filling in the Rains Retreat sponsorship form:
Bhante and Sister will conduct a special Bodhi puja, dedicated to:
Those who are unwell
Departed relatives and friends.
Programme
10am Bodhi Puja (at the Bodhi tree opposite the Aloka Stupa)
11:30am Lunch dana (please bring a vegetarian dish to share)
1:00pm Australian Buddhist Mission Inc. (ABM) Annual General Meeting (All members welcome)
Important Parking Information: Parking will not be available opposite the Stupa. This area will be used for passenger drop-off (especially elderly & less-able people) and turning vehicles etc. After dropping off any passengers, please proceed down the hill to the parking area and Dhamma Hall to deliver dishes for lunch dana. A shuttle car will be available for those who require transport from the parking area to the Bodhi tree.
*Note: If time permits, questions will be answered during Bhante’s Dhamma talk on 8 June, or otherwise, at another session to be organised later in June (TBC).
